Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi, I'm going to be traveling to Disney with my family in July/August. My sister has special needs and is in a wheelchair. But my main concern is that she is doubly incontinent, and will need changing regularly. Are there special places available for this?

  • Hi Abigail,

Disney is great with special needs guests so not to worry. There are First Aid Stations in every park that can provide a place to change her.

Be sure to pick up a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) for your sister. When you enter the 1st theme park of your trip, go to Guest Relations & request one. The GAC will alert Cast Members at each attraction she requires special assistance. The GAC will allow her & up to 5 other members of your party access to alternate queues where available.

Be sure to visit the Guests with Disabilities section on the Disney website. Some attractions allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs & others require Guests to transfer in order to board the attraction. You can find a list on the Guests with Mobility Disabilities section. Keep in mind that Cast Members (CMs) are not allowed to physically lift guests to assist them when boarding or getting off rides so you may want to discuss that with the members of your family & get a plan of action. For those attractions that board from a moving sidewalk, the CMs can stop the ride to allow your family to assist your sister.

It will be hot during your visit - click here for tips to keep her cool.  If your sister has any special dietary concerns, click here for more info. Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
