- Hi Laura,
I am so happy to hear you are making this trip with your family. Disney is an awesome place to visit with kids with special needs.
If you are staying at a Disney Resort, speak with a Resort Manager & explain your situation to see if they can help sprinkle some pixie dust on your trip.
When you enter the 1st theme park of your trip, go to Guest Relations & request a Guest Assistance Card (GAC) for your daughter which will alert Cast Members at each attraction she requires special assistance. Again, explain the circumstances & see what they can do. The GAC will allow her & up to 5 other members of your party access to alternate queues where available. If you want to use her stroller as a wheelchair, you'll also need to request a band to go on the stroller & a stamp on the GAC indicating that so she'll be able to use it at attractions - otherwise you will be required to park it in the designated stroller parking areas. Also pick up an "I'm Celebrating" button for her because she deserves to celebrate & this will attract attention from Cast Members.
Visit the Guests with Disabilities section on the WDW website. There are First Aid Stations in every park. They will be happy to assist you with any medical needs or if your daughter just needs a break while in the parks.
It will be hot - click here for tips to keep her cool.
Bring medical documentation in case of an emergency.
Bring antibacterial wipes & hand sanitizer and use them often.
Let me know if I can assist you with more questions. Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
