Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Visiting in late Aug with a 14yo w/ severe asthma & allergies but also triggered by extreme heat. Can she get a GAC to keep her from waiting in lines in the direct sun? Not sure the best strategy! Thanks!

- Hi Karen,
The Guest Assistance Card (GAC) assists guests with a wide variety of special needs that may otherwise prevent them from being able to enjoy attractions. To request a GAC, visit Guest Relations at any of the 4 theme parks. They will be able to tailor the GAC to help meet her needs as much as possible. This will alert Cast Members at each attraction what type of special assistance she needs so that they can accommodate her to the best of their ability. The GAC will allow her & up to 5 other members of your party access to alternate waiting areas or queues where available.
The GAC does state that additional waits may be incurred at certain attractions due to the need for a special vehicle or other operational concerns. Its also suggests that at attractions offering Disney's FASTPASS service, Guests should obtain a FASTPASS return ticket.
Typically August is a hot month in central Florida. Its not uncommon for an afternoon thunderstorm to roll through which cools things off and makes the parks more pleasant to visit during the evening hours. However, you can expect that the days will be hot - click here for tips to help beat the heat.
There are First Aid Stations in every park. They will be happy to assist you with any medical needs or if your daughter has an asthma attack or just needs a break while in the parks.
Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
