Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My child has Down syndrome and standing in lines on hot days would be a challenge for him. Is it appropriate to request a disability pass and would the pass be used in the wheel chair entrance at attractions?

  • Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for writing.  If your child's disability prevents him/her from waiting in long lines,  you can absolutely request a Guest Assistance Card at a Guest Relations location in whichever park you visit first.  At the Magic Kingdom, Guest Relations is located inside City Hall, which will be on your left as you enter the park.  The pass will be good in all four theme parks for your child and up to five people in your party, and will be effective for the duration of your stay.  The pass will enable you to access attractions via an alternate entrance.  In many cases, this is the FastPass entrance, where, despite the fact that your wait will not be completely eliminated, it will be much shorter.  On attractions where there is no FastPass option, you will enter via a different entrance (in some cases, this is, indeed, the entrance used by guests in wheelchairs, or may be the exit.)

    I hope this helps!
