Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • I'm planning a trip for four for a 3 day trip, single mom paying for trip alone. Where do I need to go to get a great trip on a dime and still be able to have a great trip? I'm thinking August 15 2013 Thanks so much.

  • Hi Jasma! Disney on a dime is my specialty, so you've come to the right place!

Keep an eye on the Special Offers page on the Disney website where you'll find discounted resort rooms and vacation packages. The current specials are for stays through mid-June, but in a few months there's a good chance we'll see some offers for August travel.  (If your dates are flexible, consider visiting Disney a little later in August or in September because in past years, Disney has offered Free Dining with vacation packages during those months.) Make sure you register your mailing address and email address on the Disney website, and price out some vacation packages online or by calling 407-WDISNEY. Sometimes if Disney knows you're thinking about visiting, you'll receive a special discount code in your email or mailbox for a reduced room rate!

The unofficial website www.mousesavers.com is another good source of information for saving money on your Disney trip. For park tickets, compare the cost of the ones on the Disney site with those of independent ticket retailers like undercovertourist.com. Since your visit is short, you can reduce your ticket cost by omitting the Park Hopper option and just visiting one theme park per day. Plan to arrive at the parks when they open each day so that you can experience lots of attractions with little waiting since the crowds are lighter first thing in the morning. For lodging, check out the value resorts, such as the All-Star Movies or the Pop Century. They're not luxurious, but have fun themes, budget-friendly prices, and like all Disney resorts, give you perks such as extra hours in the parks and the free Magical Express airport shuttle service. Definitely take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours for Disney resort guests so you'll get the most bang for your buck during your quick visit.

Please don't hesitate to ask me more questions! I'd love to help!
