  • We are planning our first ever trip to WDW On April 7-11 2014, Spring Break for us Kentuckians. How is the weather and crowds at that time? Also, this is all overwhelming for me to figure out how to make the most of our trip. Our kids are 13 girl, 17 boy

  • Hey there Angela!

How exciting you are planning your first Walt Disney World vacation! You have definitely come to the right place for assistance! It truly is a pleasure to assist guests with all of their Walt Disney World vacation planning questions!

You have chosen one of the most popular times of the year for your visit. Although it can be difficult to predict crowd levels with 100% accuracy, I would plan for higher crowds due to Spring Break travelers. In April, the average high temperature for Orlando is traditionally in the low 80s with the average low temperature in the upper 50s.

I would definitely advise you to stay on property as there are so many benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. Extra Magic Hours, Disney DIning Plan, Disney's complimentary airport service also known as Magical Express, charging privileges, and complimentary package delivery are just a few of the many reasons to stay on property. I would also strongly suggest that you go ahead and make Advanced Dining Reservations for table-service meals as many popular dining locations often book up months in advance. Guests may begin booking Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days in advance by calling Disney DIning at (407) WDW-DINE or by going online here. I like to create an itinerary before leaving home and plan our meals accordingly.

As a mom of a 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son, I can personally recommend all four parks for teenage children. You may want to consider purchasing the Magic Your Way Park Hopper Ticket, which gives you the added flexibility of being able to visit more than one park on the same day.

Unfortunately, I am out of room for my answer. Please don't hesitate to visit me again if you have any additional questions. I would love to assist you further in the planning of a magical first trip!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
