Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Our first trip 4/30-5/7. Noticed when making ADR that you could add a celebration. My dd is 15. Is this something she would enjoy? Or is it more for younger kids?

  • Hi Kimberly! Thanks for visiting us here on the Moms Panel and congratulations on your first trip to Walt Disney World!

You can add many different types of celebrations to your restaurant reservations - from birthdays and anniversaries to family reunions and recognition of awards/accomplishments. I think anyone of any age would enjoy a little extra attention, especially on their birthday! And there is no better place than Walt Disney World to act like a young kid again, no matter what your age. If your daughter will be celebrating a birthday during your trip, I definitely recommend adding her birthday celebration to any Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) you make. At most table service restaurants, the wait staff will bring a special dessert and sing "Happy Birthday" to the guest of honor. While your 15-year-old may be slightly embarrassed by being put in the spotlight for a few minutes, it can make for a fun photo opportunity and a sweet family memory, so have your camera ready!

Please don't hesitate to write back for more tips and advice on restaurants, ADRs or any other planning questions.
