Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • I have a 1 1/2 year old and a 5 year old. I was trying to see what you think is the pros and cons to bring my 1 year old. I have never been to WDW before and trying to see if honestly it will be worth it to bring her.

  • Hi there Tammy! OK, I'm gonna let you know from the get-go that asking we Disney Moms this question is going to give you pretty biased opinions. I brought my daughter here for her first time at 5 months old. Walt Disney World is where she got her first tooth. One of the Disney Moms brought her baby here at 8 weeks old.

I can honestly say that to me it was worth it during those early years.  I keep a picture of my Princess Mocha Latte that was taken that trip. She is sitting up in her stroller, clasping her chubby hands and totally fixated on the parade in front of her. I get a little teary just looking at the picture. That trip was one of my family's most amazing vacations. My Princess won't remember it, but I think that children absorb good feelings at a very young age.  The entire family is usually  truly giddy at Walt Disney World. Even though she was teething, she barely cried the entire trip. I think because we were happy, she was happy.

And don't forget you have your little 5 year old royalty. Imagine them enjoying this trip together. I live for these kinds of family memories. I think my dear friend and fellow Disney Mom Erin said it perfectly. "When my family is at Walt Disney World, we are better versions of ourselves. . ."

I hope you have a magical trip!
