Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hi, I'm planning a Disney vacation for Sept. 2014. I plan on arriving Labor day weekend, and stay for 10 days. Is it wise to arrive on a holiday weekend, or is Labor Day not as crowded as most holidays? I'm very flexable with my planning. Thank you!

- Hi Bill,
Normally, holiday weekends are very popular at the Walt Disney World resort, but over the years, my family has found that Labor Day weekend is generally an exception. Because schools all over the country begin before or just after Labor Day, most families have completed their summer vacations and are too newly into the school year to think about a weekend getaway.
My family often visits for Martin Luther King, Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, and I can tell you that Labor Day is certainly the least crowded of those. The unofficial website TouringPlans.com, which ranks crowd levels, confirms what I have experienced. It lists Labor Day weekend as a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. By comparison, the site ranks Memorial Day and Martin Luther King weekends as 8 or 9 out of 10.
I expect you will find low crowds throughout your September visit. So I recommend making your plans based on what works best for you without too much concern about the holiday weekend attendance.
I hope that's useful. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you or make any recommendations as you make your plans. Enjoy your 10-day visit!
