Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- What is the best way to bring the New Magic Bands to Disney on an airplane ?
Will any information be lost somehow ?

- Hi Russell,
Great question! My wife packed our Magic Bands in her carry-on bag and we didn't have any issues with them during our vacation. So, the X-ray machines didn't damage the Magic Bands' innards at all.
You may have heard that the Magic Bands are waterproof, but I was told that they were also "kid" proof as well. This came up in conversation with one of the cast members when she saw my 15-month-old chewing on his Magic Band with his newly minted razor-sharp teeth.
Being the goofball that I am, I immediately had one of those cartoon thought clouds pop up over my head as I started to imagine the R&D process that went into kid-proofing the Magic Bands. I envisioned clipboard-wielding scientists with white lab coats standing behind a two-way mirror as they watched children banging away at Magic Band prototypes.
So, if they're kid-proof then they're definitely TSA security proof in my opinion.
(Although, seeing the wear and tear on the suitcases I normally check makes me hesitate to say they're airline baggage handler proof. Better bring them in your carry-on just to be safe!)
I hope that helps! Please feel free to write back if you should have any additional questions and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.
