Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Just how hot and how busy is it going to be in FL in Aug '14? We pushed our trip back as far as we could toward the end of the month. What can we expect for lines/crowds mid/late August?

- Hi Amanda,
The closer you get to Labor Day, the smaller the crowds tend to be at the Walt Disney World resort. In many parts of the country, children go back to school in early to mid-August, so families need to finish their summer vacations by early in the month.
You are arriving just about the time the tide starts to turn. August 15 is the last day of the summer blockout period for those of us who have seasonal annual passes, which signals the end of the peak season.
Touringplans.com, an unofficial website that monitors crowd levels, lists crowds during the second half of August as 5 out of 10 or less. That's very manageable.
Unfortunately, the temperature doesn't start to wane with the crowds. You can expect highs in the low 90s and lows in the mid-70s. There's a high possibility of daily afternoon thunderstorms as well. My family doesn't usually let the rain slow us down. We carry ponchos with us and use the rainy time (which usually doesn't last long) as an opportunity to take a rest break somewhere air-conditioned or to see a long show or attraction.
I hope that is useful. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as you make your plans over the coming months.
