Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Close to booking first Disney vacation for Thanksgiving 2013...the Wyndham Grand Orlando seems reasonably priced and appropriate for kids (my boys will be agest 7 and 11). Is the weekend before and week of T-giving really crowded? Am I booking too soon?

  • Hi Bridget!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

The week of Thanksgiving is a great time to visit, as almost all of th holiday decorations will be up in the parks and resorts. However, the week of Thanksgiving is also one of the most crowded times to visit Walt Disney World; the weekend before will be a little less crowded than the weekend closest to Thanksgiving. You will want to be in the parks early and utilize FASTPASS to the fullest extent.

I personally don't think you need to book this early, but you should definitely plan. Advance Dining Reservations can be made 180 days in advance and you will definitely want to do that if you want to dine at the most popular Table Service restaurants during the week of Thanksgiving.

I hope this helps. Please write back with more questions.
