Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We're a large family, 6 kids(3-20), and we're planning a 1st time trip to WDW in August 2009. We're obviously looking for the most economic and comfortable place to stay. What would you suggest?

  • Hi Debbie! Disney is slowly offering great options for larger families. The best budget option for you is to stay at one of Disney's value resorts. You will have to reserve two rooms, but they are very reasonably priced. The rooms at the value resorts are somewhat smaller than the standard Disney rooms. Although they are "no frills", as there usually isn't a sit down restaurant or fitness center, they have GREAT theming, with out-of-this-world pools and game rooms for the kids! The value resorts have large food courts, such as you would find at your local mall. The All-Star Music Resort has new "family suites." These suites can accommodate up to 6 people. There is a small refrigerator and microwave as well in those suites.

    The value resorts are:

    Disney's Pop Century
    Disney's All-Star Sports
    Disney's All-Star Movies
    Disney's All-Star Music

Another option is to reserve a two bedroom Disney Vacation Club villa. While these accommodations are in the deluxe range, by using the fully equipped kitchens, you will find that you save tons of $$$ on food as you cook "at home" instead of eating out every meal.

To reserve, either type of accommodation, call 407-W-DISNEY or visit the website at www.disneyworld.com. Have a magical trip!
