Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Where is the best place to stay for a family of 5 on tight budget?

- Hi there! The best option on Disney property would be a Disney value resort. Disney's All Star Music Resorts have family suites that sleep up to 6. The suites have a tiny kitchenette and two TVs. Some folks opt to camp! Many people don't know that you can pull up your camper or pitch a tent! Camping at Walt Disney World can be some of the most economical accommodations on property.
Another great option is to stay off property. Of course, being on Mouse property has its benefits and is magical. But if you are pinching pennies, many families opt to stay off property. It seems the farther away from Disney, the lower the room prices. A few years ago I found a rate of $29 per night at a Courtyard by Marriott. And another option (they are like rabbits out of my hat!) is to rent a house. Friends of mine rented a gorgeous 5 bedroom home with a private pool and hot tub for around $1700 for a week.
The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World has an extensive review of all Disney properties and the best off-property options. You also might want to buy a great book, Disney on a Dime and visit the website Mousesavers.com.
Have a magical trip!
