Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My wife and I are taking our daughter and a friend to Disney in March for her sweet 16 B'day. I was wondering if there is a place for girls that age to get their hair and nails done? Also any other tips to make her sweet 16 special would be great!

  • Hi Christopher! I am a former salon owner, so I make it my solemn duty to force myself to have spa and beauty treatments while at Walt Disney World. I know, it's a sacrifice, but I do it for you. . .

Your ladies can receive salon and spa services at many of the resorts of Walt Disney World. Some of the salons do simple treatments like manicures, pedicures and the like. Others are full blown spas with full day services that include mango scrubs, Reiki, massage and hair styling. Many princesses would think their beauty treatments were not complete without a stop at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where "Fairygodmothers in training" style hair and polish nails!

Salons and/or spas are located at:

    Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
    Walt Disney World Dolphin
    Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
    Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Now for the special part. . . . How about chartering a private boat to view either the Epcot or Magic Kingdom fireworks. You could arrange to have a cake served while afloat, and as the fireworks blaze in the sky, you and your wife sing her happy birthday. OK, now I have goosebumps!

I hope you have a pixie dusted time!

    Laura S, from MA
