Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Leaving in 7 days for DW and anticipating thunderstorms, we hear. Are there rain ponchos available for sizes 3T and 4T and approximately how much are they?? I cannot find them anywhere near where we live & was just hoping to purchase there if possibl

- There are two sizes of ponchos sold at WDW - "child" and "adult." I was
stuck in a rainstorm at WDW last year and ended up purchasing
ponchos for myself and my then eight-year-old daughters. The child-sized
ponchos were just right on my girls, and would probably work well on
most children aged about 4 to about 10. If your children are size 3T or 4T, then the ponchos will likely be large on them.
However, I do
have a little tip if you find that the child-sized poncho is too large
for your needs -- just trim it down. Nearly every store at WDW has a
pair of sturdy scissors by the cash register. On one trip to WDW, a poncho
was dragging a bit on one of my daughters. We just borrowed the
scissors at a store, trimmed off the bottom two inches of the poncho
(this took about a minute to do), returned the scissors and we were on
our way again. The ponchos are fairly sturdy, made of heavy-duty plastic and remained in good shape even after I trimmed the bottom off.
Prices can change, but the Disney ponchos cost approximately $10 each. I have often found ponchos at my local Target or Walmart for much less than that. These could likely be trimmed to fit as chid as well.
There are also umbrellas sold in many of the
WDW gift shops. Also, you won't see either the umbrellas or the ponchos
until it starts to rain, and then they put them out on the counter. If
you want either and don't see them, just ask.
Hope this helps.
