Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Doug, thanks for answering my nap question. Did you ever have an instance when your child fell asleep in the stroller before you made it back to the resort or fell asleep on the bus? My son is a stroller napper so what do you recommend if that happens? TIA

  • Holly,

Yes, we have had them fall asleep in the stroller before, making the navigation home a bit of a mixed bag.

When we were going on the monorail, no problem. The strollers ramp into the monorail cars easily, and typically there was always room for the stroller in the open areas between seats. But buses are a different beast. Sometimes there was enough room to keep them in the stroller and have that in the open spaces. But on a busy bus, like the ones on the way home from the park at the end of the night, there is rarely such an opportunity.

The bottom line is that for the ride home you have to be prepared to grab the little ones and hold them while you collapse the stroller so that others have room to stand on the bus. I have always found other bus patrons both understanding and helpful in this process, offering to break down the stroller for you, offer a seat, etc. But you have to assume that you will be holding a child on your lap during the bus ride home. Any chance to keep them in the stroller is just a plus.

To be candid, our kids get so exhausted on these vacations that they typically stay asleep until I have the chance to get off the bus back at our home resort and drop them back in the stroller. I would not worry too much beyond that!

    Have a magical vacation!
