  • I'm glad you asked Kris! I love scrapping; finding time to do it can be tricky though. To simplify, I use 8x8 albums. The smaller size is less intimidating when it comes to completing an album, start to finish. Organizationally speaking, I arrange my pages chronologically rather than grouping them by park, character, etc. If we visit the Magic Kingdom our first day, the first pages in my album are devoted to what we saw, ate, did, and experienced there.

When it comes to purchasing tools of the trade I'm a minimalist. I let photos and journaling take center stage (a la Cathy Zielske). I do buy Disney albums, stickers, and punches at JoAnn. They have a decent selection of Disney merchandise there. Like I said though, I don't embellish a ton. If you're looking for more check out the Wonderful World of Memories store at Downtown Disney.

I typically don't "pre-create" pages because I like my photos to inspire color schemes and layouts. I did get creative one time and make up a rhyming Disney alphabet before a trip. Here is a hint of it:

A is for Arrival, a vacation dream come true. B is for breakfast, with Mickey & Minnie too! C is for Caribbean Beach, a place to rest our heads. D is for Dale & Chip, a couple of furry friends.

You get the idea. I used the ABC's as a guide for taking pictures, being sure to get a few shots for every letter/page.The album was easy to create afterwards because I already had a theme and photos to correspond.

You'll come across lots of free scrapbooking materials during your trip. Grab park maps and to-go menus. Save Fastpasses too; those are super-scrappable! Take pictures of overlooked things like signs, costumed Cast Members (in addition to characters), topiaries, and the monorail. These details will bring memories to life on your pages.  Above all, enjoy your trip! Your magical memories will surely translate into unforgettable scrapbooks once you arrive home.
