Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- How much money should i bring for my thirteen year old for a week

- Hello, Caroline!
Thirteen is a great age to travel to Walt Disney World! (Actually, any age is, for that matter!)
I'm going to answer this question as if you are speaking of spending money, rather than food, tickets, etc. Otherwise, the answer would be vastly different.
When my daughter brought her 14-year-old friend with us to WDW this past June, we told her friend's mom that $200 would be more than enough for the week. We were on the Dining Plan, so snacks, beverages and most meals were covered. We also had Park Hoppers, so the only additional expense the kids would incur would be if they wanted a second ice cream in one day, or wanted to shop for souvenirs, too. (Incidentally, there are lots of shopping opportunities for Guests of all ages, especially at Downtown Disney, so the girl teens might want to spend a bit more than the boys!) Both my daughter and her friend spent far less than what they brought, though, since we ate breakfast most mornings in the room and brought our own partially-frozen bottles of water into the parks each day. No need to purchase beverages, which eat up a bit of your spending money if you're not careful.
Hope this is helpful! Please send more questions or more information if you need clarification, too. We love to help Guests get the most magic out of their vacations to Walt Disney World! :-)
