Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • It's my family of 4 first trip to WDW and we have the Dining Plan and I wanted to know for the Character Dining do the characters only appear for Breakfast & Lunch and not Dinner? So far I've made dinner reservations at Chef Mickey & Ohana?

  • Hi there Danelle!

Congratulations on your first Walt Disney World vacation! You are going to love the Disney DIning Plan and the convenience and flexibility it offers!

My family of six has created so many magical memories at Character DIning Experiences! You have chosen two of my very favorite dining locations. It honestly depends on the specific Character Dining Experience as to which meals the Disney Characters appear.  'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort is a Character Dining Experience at breakfast, but not at dinner. Although we love 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast, dinner at 'Ohana is not to be missed in my personal opinion. This popular dining location features a Polynesian-inspired menu and the amazing dishes are all-you-care-to-eat and are served family-style. My children absolutely love getting to limbo at night and the live entertainment at this festive table-service restaurant. I would highly recommend keeping your Advanced DIning Reservation for dinner at 'Ohana, even though there will not be Disney Characters appearing during this time. This dining location often books up months in advance due to its popularity.

You will be happy to know that Chef Mickey's, located at DIsney's Contemporary Resort, does feature the DIsney Characters at dinner. I have personally dined at Chef Mickey's during dinner and can confirm that the all-you-care-to-eat ice cream and dessert station is a big hit with kids of all ages!

'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast usually features Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto; whereas, Chef Mickey's traditionally features the "Fab 5."  Please know that Characters are subject to change. I hope this information is helpful!  Please don't hesitate to visit me again with any additional questions. I would love to assist you further in the planning of a magical first trip, Danelle!

    Bon Appétit,
    Jodie
