Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • For the first time, we will have a car for our upcoming trip on Dec. 21-23. Staying at Saratoga Springs. Do you recommend driving to MK and AK or taking the bus because of the crowds? Thanks!

  • Hi Karen.    My preference is to drive my car when I have access to one.

There are a number of reasons for considering doing so.   First crowd levels will be a bit larger than normal given this is the week leading up to Christmas.  Therefore, buses may be more crowded and lines longer.   You may have to wait for a second bus if the first one fils up (quite possible if you leave at closing time).   Taking a tram to your car and leaving is much quicker.   This is pretty much guaranteed for all parks other than Magic Kingdom.   However, given the time of year, I think you may find this true even for Magic Kingdom (although you would also need to take either the Monorail or Ferry to return to the parking area).    Also, as a resort guest, you receive complimentary parking so there is no added cost should you drive.

If its worth anything, I live in Florida and anytime we visit Disney we fortunately do have access to a car.  In nearly all cases, we choose to drive for both time and comfort reasons.   Enjoy your vacation!
