Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hi, Nana Grandpa, Mom, Dad daughter 9 and son 4 (6) are planning a trip to WDW. I am not sure if we should stay at Fort Wilderness or All star Music. Grandpa and Nana are not able to walk too far and Grandpa would most likely be renting a Motor scooter

It sounds like for the six of you, you are trying to make a decision between a cabin at Fort Wilderness and a Family Suite at All-Star Music. The choice is easy: a wheel-chair accessible cabin at Fort Wilderness.
Although the Family Suite gives you an extra bathroom, it'd be different if your children were two teenage girls. It's the sleeping accommodations, common space, both inside and outside of the cabin, along with the ease of accessibility and mobility for your parents that provide the contrast for these two options.
In the Family Suite, you have a bed in the bedroom, but the other four sleeping accommodations come from the chair and ottoman that transform into overstuffed cots and a double sleeper sofa. In contrast in the accessible cabin, you have a set of bunk beds with regular mattresses and a double bed along with a murphy bed in the living room with a regular mattress, not a sofa-bed mattress.
In the Family Suite, you'll have to make up all the "beds" to regain your living area. In the cabin, the murphy bed just folds right back up and you've got plenty of room for your everyone to enjoy a meal using its full kitchen instead of the microwave in the suite, and park your dad's scooter inside (it will be a tight squeeze in the suite). You can park your car right next to your cabin for ease of transfer from its ramp or if you want to take a bus, you'll find them much closer than walking/scooting to the front of All-Star Music.
Best of all, the Magic Kingdom boat at the dock of Fort Wilderness will allow your dad to drive right on without assistance, giving you a much more magical experience.
If you have more questions about the cabins, feel free to come back and ask.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
