Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are staying at POR with our own car. Can we drive from POR to the Wilderness Lodge then take internal bus to Mickey's Backyard BBQ for ADR? Would it be quicker than taking the boat? Last visit we had a LONG wait for boat after attending Hoop De Do.

  • Hi Melanie! You mentioned driving from Port Orleans to the Wilderness Lodge but I believe you meant Fort Wilderness Resort.

The best way to reach Mickey's Backyard Barbecue from Port Orleans resort is to drive the short five minutes to the entrance to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. Tell the guard station that you are parking for Mickey's Backyard Barbecue and he will direct you to the lots located in the front of the resort. Then take the short walk to the main bus depot where you can hop on an internal bus that will take you to Pioneer Hall. The orange loop will be the most direct. When you arrive take the path and pass Pioneer Hall and Trails End restaurant. There will be a path off to the left once you reach those locations and a cast member will be there to help direct you to the Barbecue location.

To return to your car you will walk back to the bus area and take a bus back to the front of the resort where your car is parked. The internal buses run often and very efficiently.  Have fun and enjoy the great show and food!
