  • Hi Denise,

Disney's Art of Animation is an amazing resort!  You and your family will have a wonderful time there.

Getting from one resort to another at Walt Disney World can be a bit tricky when you do not have a car.  This is because there is not bus transportation directly between resorts provided by Disney.  Typically, this will mean that from Disney's Art of Animation, you need to take a bus to a theme park, and then transfer to another bus or transportation to the resort that is your destination.  I do have a couple of thoughts on how to make this easier.

You can make your reservations so that instead of leaving from Disney's Art of Animation, you leave from the theme park that you are visiting on that day.  So for instance, if you are visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios one day, and want to visit 1900 Park Cafe at Disney's Grand Floridian that night for Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner, you can catch a bus directly from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Disney's Grand Floridian that evening, thereby eliminating the need to transfer transportation on the way there.  Another idea, if you are heading to Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, is to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  This is a short walk.

Finally, if you are leaving from Disney's Art of Animation to get to another resort, or when you come back after your meal, I do highly recommend taking a taxi.  Taxis are typically available at most Walt Disney World Resorts, and if there is not one immediately available, simply ask a cast member to call one for you.  While there is a cost associated with this, it is typically fairly low, and I think a small price to pay to save what might otherwise be a long journey.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Denise!  Have a great time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
