Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Is it worth the extra money to stay in the preferred rooms at the All Star Movie Hotel? Are they any better, any closer, any newer? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • Hi, Tiffany!   The only difference when comparing a Standard Room to a Preferred Room at any of the All-Star Resorts is location.   A Preferred Room will put you in a building closer to the main pool, food court, lobby and bus stop.   Other than that, rooms will be identical as far as amenities, layout, or age of the room.

Some guests prefer the Standard Room since they are a bit further out from the busy center of the resort where everyone must come and go so they might be quieter.   Also, the Standard Rooms are better if you prefer to be near the parking lot if you have a car with you.

Personally, I always book a Standard Room.  My family does not mind the few extra minute walk from the main areas.   If you feel you will not want any extra walking, then the money for the Preferred Room will be well spent!  It will put you near more of the activity of the resort and save you some walking time.

Whichever room you decide on, I hope your vacation is magical!
