Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are staying Yacht club April 8-12. We like to stay Downtown Disney the day before one night as this is our travel/arrival day. It's our one day at DD for shopping. We usually stay at the Wyndham next door but A ofAnimation is the same rate. Suggestions?

  • Hi, Allison!  Okay, so here's my take on things.  I think the feeling at Wyndham is a bit more upscale than what you will find at Disney's Art of Animation resort, however, you are truly immersed in the magic of the Disney movies when  you visit Art of Animation.  I think it's an experience you might enjoy, especially if it's only for the night.  It is definitely not a deluxe resort, so you won't have the amenities you'll probably expect from the Yacht Club, but you'll have full access to Walt Disney World transportation, the option to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, plus a chance to explore the resort.

The rooms are going to be smaller, and again, there isn't the same availability of things like room service and concierge, however, it's a unique and fun experience.  If I were you, I'd weigh the pros and cons of the things you'd be losing or gaining, and make my decision based on the list that was more important.  For one night, I think I'd go with Art of Animation.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
