Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hello! We are looking into booking our 2nd trip to DW in Dec '12. We would love to stay at the art of animation resort but it looks like all they are booking is the suites. Do you know when the standard rooms will be available to book? Thanks!

- Hi Cassondra and congrats on deciding to visit Walt Disney World Resort again this year!
Disney's Art of Animation Resort is scheduled to begin opening in phases, beginning with the Finding Nemo wing in late May 2012. Finding Nemo will be followed by Cars in July, Lion King in September, and Little Mermaid at the end of 2012.
The Little Mermaid wing is the only area of Art of Animation that will offer standard rooms, and unfortunately it appears these rooms will not yet be available for guest booking at the time of your trip. My best guess is that The Little Mermaid wing will not be completed until the very end of December.
Family Suites in the other 3 buildings will be open to guests, based on availability but if a standard room will best suit your family's needs, I would recommend considering Pop Century, a value resort offering standard rooms, located adjacent the Art of Animation resort.
Stay tuned to Disneyworld.com and the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news on the construction of Art of Animation and updates on completion of The Little Mermaid wing as they unfold. You can always make changes (based on availability) to your reservation if the opening date is moved up.
I have enjoyed helping you today and PLEASE let me know if I can answer any additional questions! It is my pleasure to help make your Disney World vacation a purely magical experience!
