Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi, Whitney! If I stay at Fort Wilderness cabins, can I park my car right outside my cabin? I don't want to use the buses. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

Even though you can park your car right next to your cabin, you will still feel like a world away from, well, the World--as in Disney World! The fort's wooded canopy always makes me feel like I could be anywhere in nature, not a theme park!

You'll be happy to know that you not only have a large parking pad for your car or even large SUV, there is also enough room if you'd like to rent a golf cart while you're there and plug it into an outside cabin outlet to charge. You'll see many campers pulling their own golf carts to the resort, while others simply rent them at check-in.

As you mentioned, Fort Wilderness offers bus transportation within a short walking distance of every cabin loop, so you may decide to let Disney do all of the driving, so you can relax or enjoy a late night at the park or a restaurant. Because you have to transfer from the cabin loop bus to a park bus at the resort's Outpost bus stop, I typically like to take Disney transportation from the fort to Magic Kingdom, but if I have my car, I tend to opt to drive to the other parks, especially Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
    Whitney
