Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hi Moms ! What exactly is the difference between Standard / Preferred rooms ? WD website does not say. Is it worth the higher price ? And we will be going the first week in October 2014 - How is the weather during that time?

  • HI Bill,

Preferred rooms are generally located closer to the lobby / food courts and/or main swimming pool. In addition, they may have a better view. Standard rooms generally are a bit more of a walk and they may face the parking lot or other areas. It really depends on which resort you are staying at as to whether it makes a big difference between standard and preferred rooms. If you would like to send me a follow-up with the resorts that you are considering, I can help you determine if it is worth the additional money. It matters more with some resorts than others.

October is a beautiful time to visit Walt Disney World. In fact, it is one of my favorite times to vacation there. It is usually in the 80's and the crowds are not overly crazy because kids are back in school.

Wishing you a wonderful vacation! Please let me know if I can assist you further,

    Kaylene
