Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Planning a trip in Sept, there will be 6 of us. 4 are children: two 9 yr old girls & two 15 yr old boys. Im trying to decide between a family suite at AOA or 2 standard rooms at POP. Which do you recommend? We want comfort and fun! Thanks!

- Hi Melissa,
That's a tough question. I love both resorts and can see advantages for you at both, depending on your preferences.
Either way, you will get two TVs, two bathrooms and a small in-room refrigerator. Both food courts are of equal quality, and each resort has its own dedicated bus service with a single stop. The resorts are adjacent, so travel time to the theme parks is identical.
Some things to consider::
Art of Animation has a full-sized dining table, a living room and a kitchenette with a microwave and coffee maker, all items you wouldn't have with two rooms at Pop Century.
Each room at Pop has two double beds. The master bedroom at AoA has a queen. The sofa folds out into a double bed, and another double bed folds from the wall. So the Pop Century option would give you one more bed, which might be imperative if your teenagers hate to share as much as my daughters do.
Is swimming important? If so, the Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation gets the nod. It is the largest pool at a Disney resort and, like the rest of the resort, is incredibly well-themed. The Cozy Cone Pool in the Cars section of Art of Animation also is fun, with traffic cone shaped cabanas shading some chairs.
In terms of cost, Pop Century may win out. Depending on the specials and availability, it is likely that two connecting rooms there would be less expensive than one suite at Art of Animation, which is new and very popular.
For me, it would probably come down to how much time you plan to spend in the room or at the resort. My family tends to stay on the go in the theme parks, and we tend not to use the pools, so in-room and resort amenities aren't as important to us. For others, those can be the key to a great stay.
I hope that helps gives you some extra information to make your decision. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions as you plan your vacation. Enjoy!
