Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hello- I am looking for special extra things to do at Disney World for a 14 year old boy in January? Any help would be appreciated.
  • - Asked by Elizabeth from Minnesota on 1/5/2014
  • Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for stopping by with your question. I'm sure you have a countdown going as you trip is almost here. I have a few suggestions for some fun and unique experiences for your teenager.
    • Characters in Flight operated by Aerophile - this giant tethered balloon soars 400 feet in the air over Downtown Disney with spectacular views of Walt Disney World Resort. This is definitely not for the faint of heart, but can be quite exhilarating and is especially exciting to do at night! Keep in mind that flights can be cancelled due to high winds. Tickets can be purchased on site at Downtown Disney.
    • Depending on the weather in January (it can be cooler, but could also be quite pleasant and warm), parasailing at the contemporary with Sammy Duvall Watersports is an awesome experience. As you float high in the air, you will get amazing views of Magic Kingdom. I highly recommend this experience. I have done it multiple times and it is totally worth the cost. Call (407) 939-0754 to make reservations.
    • DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney is another fun and unique option. This 5-story interactive theme park has so many things to enjoy, you could spend all day there and not even scratch the surface.

I hope these suggestions can help you decide on something extra special for him. Have a magical trip!
    ~Allison L
