  • Ahoy Disney Moms! My husband and I are taking our two adult sons, daughter in law and three grandsons on the 4 night Bahama cruise for spring break. The boys are 10, 6, 18 months. Any suggestions for activities for the boys, especially the baby?

  • Ahoy Tammy!
I'm always excited to help out a fellow Georgia Peach with cruise plans!  Your grandsons are going to have an absolute blast when you cast off for your Bahamian adventure on the Disney Dream.  My son is eight, but was 18 months on his first cruise so I have a pretty good idea of what will keep all three boys busy on your sailing. First, your 18 month grandson will love splashing around Nemo's Splash Zone on the pool deck.  This area is covered so it is the perfect spot for all the young toddlers aboard to enjoy some splashtacular fun.  Toddler activities are usually planned for early in the morning such as the Wake Up with Disney Jr, but you will find other toddler and family events sprinkled throughout the day.  I also suggest visiting It's A Small World Nursery.  My son loved his time in the nursery because they offer crafts, story time, free play, and movie time.  There is a nominal hourly fee and reservations can be made online prior to your cruise in the Planning Center Section on the DCL website, Another suggestion is to utilize the Open House hours offered by the Oceaneer Club and Lab.  During these scheduled times, Guests of all ages can stop by for free play and/or planned programming accompanied by an adult.
As for the older boys, they will stay very busy with the activities in the Oceaneer Club/Lab.  Be sure to check your daily cruise newsletter for my son's suggestions-Piston Cup Challenge, Gaga Ball, Anyone Can Cook, Super Sloppy Science, Marshmallow Olympics, Wacky Relay Races, Magic Playfloor and Elephant Soccer!  When they aren't in the club/lab, they can whiz down the AquaDuck, swim in the Mickey pool, play mini golf at Goofy's Golf, solve the mystery at the Midship Detective Agency, play ball on the sports deck, watch a first-run movie and much more!
I'm about out of room so I hope this helps!
Have a magical day and happy sailing!
    Nancy
