Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Can you please tell me if Kali River Rapids opens at the same time as the other rides in AK? So, if EMH are at 8AM, and the park opens at 9AM to the public, does Kali start at 9:00AM? Just trying to do KS, then EE by 9AM, then going to Kali-sound ok?

- Hi Jana!
It sounds like you've got a pretty great plan started for your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom!
Heading straight to Kilimanjaro Safaris first thing during Morning Extra Magic Hours is a perfect plan. The animals will all be out in view enjoying their morning grazes and you'll have photo opportunities galore!
Afterwards, you could head on over and definitely enjoy Expedition Everest! If you LOVE it (of course you WILL!) then why not grab a FASTPASS for it again on the way out so you can enjoy it again after Kali? =)
Kali River Rapids sometimes opens a little bit later in the day (often 11am) but this occurs usually only during cooler times of the year when not many guests are in the mood to get wet in the morning hours! Given that you're going to be there in August, Kali River Rapids should be operating with regular Park Hours (you are correct in that it is not a Morning Extra Magic Hours attraction) and you should indeed be able to experience it at or around 9am just as you've planned!
Try to set aside times to see Festival of the Lion King and Fining Nemo - The Musical. They're both fantastic shows for the whole family and a nice opportunity to enjoy a little bit of cool, down-time during your day. Flights of Wonder is also a great and very interesting show to see. Check the park's Daily Times Guide slip on your way in to the park for timing of all shows.
Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel. I hope to hear from you again soon!
Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World Jana!
