Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- My ? is about height requirements. Our 4 year old is just barely 40". I am concerned about her being able to ride Big Thunder Mnt Railroad and Splash Mnt. How strict are these height requirements? She will be crushed to watch her siblings go w/out

- Disney is quite strict about the height requirements for the attractions. On a
few occasions, my daughters have even been asked to remove a hat or
even take out a high ponytail to allow cast members to more accurately
measure them. However, one thing to think about is that children are measured with their shoes on. A pair of sneakers can give most kids an extra half inch or so of height.
Children are measured at
least once, and usually twice, at every ride where there is any
potential that they won't meet a height requirement. The measurements
take place at the queue entrance and again directly before boarding the
I know it can be frustrating if a child wants to ride an
attraction for which her or she is not tall enough, but the height
requirements are there to keep guests safe -- a priority for everyone.
If your daughter is not tall enough for an attraction, then you'll just
have to bring her back in a year or two which she's bigger :-)
