Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- Hi, I was wondering if there are any restrictions to taking an infant on rides if the child is being held or in a sling of some sort? Also, can you suggest the best rides for a child that is three to eight months old ( or in that range)? Thank you!

- You can bring your baby with you on any ride or attraction for which there is no height requirement -- there are dozens of these in the Magic Kingdom alone. When we brought our twins to WDW when they were babies, we often had them in a Baby Bjorn front carrier. We were allowed to keep them in this on several of the rides, including Small World and the Jungle Cruise. For other rides we held the babies on our laps. Your only possible issue that there are some rides that very young children can enjoy that do have lap bar restraints. The Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear are two examples of this. On both these rides, the lap bar is not tight fitting, so a baby could be on your lap with the bar down. But if you wanted to have the child in a sling, the angle could possibly be awkward (or not, depends on the sling).
My experience with babies a WDW is that they'll be happy if you're happy. At this age, the child is not so much in the ride for the story, as a preschooler might be, but more for the sensory experience. Any of the rides in Fantasyland have plenty of sounds and colors to stimulate a growing mind (Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, for example). There are a few rides that even stimulate the olfactory senses -- watch out for the skunk smell in the Journey to Imagination ride at Epcot :-)
Just about every mom on this Panel has brought babies to WDW. Our biggest tip is to try to keep the baby to his/her schedule as much as possible. Make sure to get those naps in and keep the child fed and especially hydrated. This will not be the "do it all" vacation. But you can have a joyful and rewarding WDW trip with your baby.
