Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- We have been to WDW many times before, but this time is different. My husband has a progressive terminal disease and it may be our last trip as a family. Our twins are 11. I've scheduled meals and fireworks dessert party. Any other suggestions?

- Hi Kristine,
I'm so very sorry to hear the news of your husband's health. Even though there may be a dark cloud hanging over your heads, I'm sure this visit to Walt Disney World will bring a ray of sunshine.
Since you're all Walt Disney World veterans, the best piece of advice I can give is to just let the magic happen.
A few Sundays ago, I went into the kitchen to make breakfast and noticed that our family calendar was completely blank for the upcoming week. Normally it's filled with notes about appointments and other to-do's, so this threw me for a loop. I immediately grabbed a Sharpie and wrote a note that stretched across the entire week saying, "We will have a blessed week."
I could give you a mile-long list of my favorite to-do's at Walt Disney World that could fill up your calendar, but I'd rather encourage you to take out your own proverbial Sharpie and claim the days of your Disney vacation as being a part of a blessed week.
While there are so many awesome things to do at Walt Disney World, the reason I keep coming back time after time is because it's magic allows me to mute the pressures of the real world so I can savor every moment with my family. So, no matter where your travels may take you each day, set your sights one thing - celebrating the blessing of your time together.
Be well and savor every moment!
P.S. - Even though I said I didn't want to give you a mile-long list of to-do's, I would like to suggest for you to take as many pictures as possible during your vacation. It doesn't matter whether it's with your own camera, with the PhotoPass photographers, or even a mini portrait session with the Disney Fine Art photographers. Having those images of such a happy moment in time may prove to be very helpful for your husband as he continues his treatments and procedures.
