Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer several years ago, after completing his treatments he is now cancer free. it has been our family custom to visit since 1981 for two weeks we would like to celebrate with something special. Any ideas?

- Hi Winkie,
Wow, what a special reason to celebrate! That's such great news!
I've got a few ideas, so let's see if any of them might work:
#1 - A Fireworks or Dinner Cruise. On the last one I took, I distinctly remember wishing that I could hit a pause button so I could enjoy that experience forever.
#2 - A Splurge Experience. I'm sure there are a few experiences that your husband may have enjoyed in the past, but for whatever reason hasn't wanted to splurge on again. That may be a round of golf, a fishing excursion, or even a few hot laps around the Walt Disney World Speedway.
#3 - A New Experience. If you're like me, you may tend to gravitate toward your favorite attractions, shows, restaurants, tours, or other experiences at Walt Disney World. With so many special things to do, it might be fun to plan a "brand-new" day where everything on the agenda for the entire day is something new for you both.
Here's a bonus idea from your buddy Derek:
If you have a favorite picture from your Walt Disney World vacation in 1981, it might fun to see if you can re-create that picture. Obviously, I wouldn't worry about copying the outfits you wore back then (although, that might be fun!), but you can see if you can pose together the same way you did in that photo while standing in the same spot where the photo was taken.
When you get home, you can take both pictures and have them framed and matted side-by-side. That might be a neat idea for an anniversary present!
I hope that helps. If you would like to bounce a few more ideas off of me, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.
