- Hi Sallie,
It sounds as if you are planning a very special way to spend your holidays. That special time of year is filled with even more magic at Walt Disney World. There are quite a few special events available for your enjoyment.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is offered on select dates in November and December and does require a separate admission. It takes place at the Magic Kingdom after regular park hours and includes a special parade, fireworks show, complimentary cookies and hot cocoa and many other amazing things. It even SNOWS on Main Street each night of the party.
The Candlelight Processional at Epcot is another very special event. It is a choral and orchestra concert along with the narration of the Christmas Story. I was able to attend this event for the first time this past December and will never forget it. It is truly a must-see show in my opinion. It, too, does require a ticket to be seated in the amphitheater where it is held in the American Pavilion of World Showcase.
Also in Epcot but no requiring special admittance is the holidays around the world. You can visit each country and hear about how the holidays are celebrated in each of their cultures. For example, La Befana can be found in Italy, you can learn about the tradition of the first Christmas tree in Germany and celebrate the Chinese New Year with the Monkey King.
In Disney's Hollywood Studios is the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. This dazzling display of colorful lights is something that cannot be described in words.
Be sure to visit the different resorts and see all of their amazing decorations, too!
Have a jolly holiday!
