Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My family and I will be visiting WDW Dec. 21 - 27 this year. This will be our first time to be there at Christmas time. What are some must see and dos? We have been to WDW many times before but never at Christmas.

  • Oh, Anne!

Christmas at Disney World is my favorite! It's like a second layer of magic!

There are SO many great extra things to do. Here are some of my faves:

    Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party:
This is a separated ticketed event at Magic Kingdom after the park closes. There is a special Christmas parade, fireworks show, free hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas shows and select rides are open. There are lots of character meet/greets and they are all dressed in their Christmas outfits! SO MAGICAL!

Holidays Around the World: At Epcot's World Showcase there is an street performer in each country that tells their Christmas story. For example--Father Christmas in the UK and LaBefana in Italy.

Candlelight Processional: This is my absolute favorite thing ever---a huge chorus, an orchestra and a celebrity brings the real Christmas Story to life. They sing traditional carols and tell the story of Christmas from the Bible. It is breathtaking. You can even get special seating for this with certain dinner reservations--call 407-WDW-DINE!

And of course, there is the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studios, the decor at the hotels and the giant Gingerbread House at The Grand Floridian!

We're going to be at Disney during Christmas, too. Maybe we'll see you there! :)
