- Hi Casey, Congratulations on your upcoming engagement! I'm so excited for you!
You've made a wonderful choice with Citricos. I absolutely love this restaurant. The ambiance is very romantic and would be perfect for a marriage proposal. In addition, the food is top notch.
Prior to answering your question, I sought the input of my dear friend and fellow Panelist, Jonas. He and his wonderful husband travel to Disney often with their children. Jonas had some great thoughts and we hope that you'll find them helpful:
"The best part of Disney is that I've found NO awkwardness being part of a
same-gender couple or family. It's the happiest place on earth for all." He felt Citricos was great, or suggested the Magic Kingdom Rose Garden during fireworks.
He and his husband, "have been going to Disney World together for 10 years as a
couple, 5 years as parents, as well as a Disney Cruise with our kids. We've
only had positive experiences at Disney. Unlike a couple of other vacation spots, no one has ever
looked at us strangely. Just like for any other guests, Cast Members, and even other guests, go out of their
way to make us feel welcome." Be sure you pick up "Just Engaged" buttons at
any Guest Relations counter...Cast Members will love celebrating with you!
Jonas also recommends that you have a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding on property (open to same gender couples since 2007).
I hope these tips come in handy for you. Most of all, I wish you all the happiness in the world and I'll be hoping your engagement is as Magical as you are dreaming it to be,
