Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • My husband and I are going for our 10th anniversary in Oct. with our kids ages 8 and 7. Where would you suggest going for dinner that the kids would like? I am hoping for free dining at the time we are there too.

  • Nicole:

There are so many restaurant options that will be both memorable for you and your husband as well as the kids...

    • For our most special occasions, our family dines at California Grill atop the Contemporary. Even our teenage children were impressed by the expansive view of not only Magic Kingdom but of several other hotels and roller coasters in the distance. If money is a concern, consider ordering off the appetizer menu for dinner or skipping dessert.
    • If all-you-can-eat steak, shrimp and chicken and specialty drinks served in a pineapple make for a memorable occasion for the four of you, head to Ohana. I'd recommend looking at the Magic Kingdom park calendar to see when the fireworks will be shot and making your reservation about 30- to 45- minutes beforehand so you can enjoy a view of them from the restaurant. If this isn't possible, give yourself a good hour and a half to eat and then head to the Polynesian beach for the night-time finale.
    • Coral Reef at Epcot is another restaurant that serves as a special occasion spot for both young and old in our family. There's a lot to like on both the adult and children's menus and your children's attention will be kept by the large aquarium.

Wishing y'all a memorable anniversary and a magical vacation!
    Whitney
