  • We are in WDW for our second time in June 2014. It is our son's 10th B-day on our second last day. Any ideas what we can do to make his birthday great? Dinner ideas?

  • Hi Tara,

First of all, I would like to wish your son a fantastic early birthday! 10 is a big one. My son also recently reached double digits, so I know how important this milestone is for both him and you.

I have a great idea based on something I did with my son this past June that he absolutely loved. You could book either a parasailing excursion or a water tubing adventure at Sammy Duvall Watersports at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Both are equally as fun and offer a unique way to enjoy his special day. I can speak from experience and say you are sure to see lots of smiles and laughter from your special guy as he enjoys this special activity.

If that isn't something he is interested in, I would suggest maybe doing an unconventional celebration as dessert for dinner and heading over to Disney's Beach Club Resort and feasting on the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. This old fashioned soda shop offers this delectable ice cream sundae that has just about everything AND is even served in a "kitchen sink". The cast members there really make ordering this particular menu item fun and entertaining.

One last suggestion offers an activity as well as dinner and that is Splitsville Luxury Lanes in Downtown Disney. You can bowl and feast on some really fantastic food here. This might be right up his "alley", pun intended!

Whatever you decide, I'm sure he'll have the time of his life and a birthday to remember.
