Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- I have tickets for MVMCP but not park tickets for that day. Can I get fastpasses for rides during the party without a park ticket or are they even necessary with smaller crowds? Thanks for your help!!

- Hi Jordan! I think you and your family will love the great Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in the Magic Kingdom. I went last night and it was truly magical. Be sure and be in the park for the castle lighting ceremony which takes place at 6:15. You can make quite an evening of it by starting out watching the best Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It street party which begins at 5:40 on Main Street and works its way down the street to the castle hub circle. Hang in that area and then watch the Castle lighting and follow that with either dinner or some attractions. Then find a spot for the 8:15 parade or wait for the later parade and enjoy attractions while everyone else is holding their spots on the curbs.
Be sure and be in front of the castle by 9:15 to watch the castle show which is beautiful and I just can't explain it. That of course is followed by the holiday fireworks.
In the past Fast passes have not been offered during the special event parties. They cap the number of tickets sold so even if a party is sold out for the evening you will find far less guests in the lines. Nothing is written in stone at Disney and especially right now with all the new changes with the Magic Bands and Fastpass+. So be sure and check to see if they will start letting guests make fast passes during party times. Be sure this is where you would want to use your three per day though as like I mentioned the lines are generally shorter anyway during the party so you might find them better used in another park on the same day. Do a park in the morning, rest in the afternoon and head to the Magic Kingdom anytime after 4pm to start your Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party celebration. Have fun!
