Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are planning our first trip to Disney in February with 4 and 7 y/o girls.I think I made a mistake of purchasing the 1 park/day tickets instead of park hopper. I already have the tickets, any suggestions on how to make the best of these or upgrade?

  • Hi Michelle,

Honestly, when my youngest were 4 & 7 I preferred not to Park Hop. Instead, we chose to fully immerse ourselves in one park per day.  Even now that my youngest is 7, we still like to get Base Tickets. There is SO much to see and do in each park. With the logistics involved in transferring to a different park (monorail, bus, ferry, etc), I find it takes too much time out of our day.

However, if you do decide that you want to upgrade the tickets, you can do so as long as there are still days remaining on them. The price difference (currently $55) is the same for the Park Hopper option no matter how many days you get. So to make the most of it, I recommend stopping by Guest Relations before even activating your tickets on the first day. You can pay for the upgrade at that time. Again, I'd personally save the $220+ and stick with the Base Tickets. This is especially true on a first Disney vacation when you'll be experiencing it all for the first time and will find that the days fly by.

Have a wonderful vacation and please let me know if I can assist you further,

    Kaylene
