- Hi, Linda!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about FastPass+ and MagicBands. You're going to be right in the middle of all the magic in mere days -- how exciting! So if I've understood correctly, it sounds as if you've been pre-selected to test Disney's new FastPass+ service, but you haven't activated your MagicBands.
You mention that you can't test FastPass+ despite having been chosen. Perhaps you don't have sufficient lead time to make your selections from home prior to your departure? If this is the case and you'd like to have the opportunity to test FastPass+ during your visit next week, you should be able to activate your MagicBands when you check in at your Disney Resort. The Front Desk Cast Members can help you with this. You should also be able to select FastPass+ attractions (subject to availability) after you arrive on property by using the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone, visiting Guest Relations in any park, or logging into your My Disney Experience account online.
Since you are Annual Passholders, I would definitely recommend that you hold onto your MagicBands -- you may be able to use them again for your return visit in October. While the new FastPass+ service and MagicBands are currently in the testing phase, these enhancements to the guest experience are expected to officially roll out this fall. I would suggest keeping an eye on both the Disney Parks Blog and the Annual Passholder page on the Walt Disney World website for updates and further details.
Wishing you a magical vacation! Please don't hesitate to write back with any other questions as you finalize your plans.
