Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel
- The annual pass allows for a renewal within 30 days of the pass expiration. If I renew my annual pass, is it activated immediately, or the first time I use it?

- Hi, Tory! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
My family are Annual Passholders, too, and we really enjoy the benefits that go along with having Annual Passes, including resort room discounts, free parking and merchandise discounts.
When you renew your Annual Pass, you keep the same Anniversary Date. This means that your renewal Annual Pass will still expire 12 months after your original anniversary date. So a Pass renewal is different from an initial Pass purchase because the original Pass is activated the first time you use it (when you enter a Disney theme park) rather than at the time of purchase.
If you renew your Annual Pass within 30 days after the expiration date, you do receive a discount of $47.92 per each Pass renewed. The current discounted Renewal Price (including tax) for an Annual Pass is $563.39. This is compared to the Regular Price of $611.31.

Since your Pass will have the same anniversary (expiration) date regardless of which date you renew your Pass within the 30-day window, you may want to consider whether renewing your current Annual Pass or purchasing an entirely new Pass will be the most cost-efficient option for you. It really depends on when you plan to return to Walt Disney World. Do you plan to visit again soon after your current Pass expires? Then a Pass renewal may be the best choice. Or are you planning a trip many months after your current Pass will have expired? In that case, you may want to benefit from the delayed activation date of a new Pass.
I hope this information helps! Tory, please don't hesitate to stop back with any other questions if I can assist you further.
