Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • We are making our first Disney trip in March 2014. I have no idea how to make my Fast Pass selections. I know which rides we want but how do I know how to schedule them so they aren't to far from each other to make it....

  • Hi, Lori!

    Great question!

My husband and I will be returning to Walt Disney World in February, so we've been playing around with our FastPass+ options over the last several days; I can see how a first-timer might be nervous that options selected might not be feasible, so I'm glad you asked.

If you are completely unsure, take a look at FastPicks, which will be an option on your screen when ready to make your FastPass+ selections. If you don't like what you see, craft your own schedule according to what is offered. Because your FastPass+ options will all be in the same park, your one hour window will enable you to enjoy each of the three, even if they are aligned right next to each other. In fact, I organize our FastPass+ selections in exactly that manner; I'll move the latest selection to the hour I'd like to finish with our attractions (pre-dinner, for example, or if I know we'll be park hopping that day, I'll line them up in the morning). Then, I'll move the middle FastPass+ option as close to that last one as possible and will move our first selection close to the second. For us, this means that if we decide to sleep in that day, it's no problem.

In short, spread them out however you'd like or condense them as closely as possible to each other. If you'd like to enjoy a leisurely stroll around the park that day, use this Walt Disney World map to line up your FastPass+ choices in a clockwise or counter-clockwise manner. Just scroll in for a closer view of each park, locate the attractions you're most likely to choose for FastPass+ and pick one that's closest to the entrance; organize your second and third choices in a manner that does not have you criss-crossing the park and you're good to go.

Hope that helps, Lori! If you'd like more specific advice, just send another question. We love to help!
