Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • Hello! Friends of mine will be at the World on 12/26/12. They have young children - were wondering if the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex would be a good option. I always thought it was more for special events - are there childrens activities there daily

  • Hi Kalli!

You are right!  Guests basically go there to watch sporting events or to participate in sporting events, usually at the middle school, high school, or college level.  However, the Atlanta Braves baseball team also trains there.  However, I wouldn't recommend going there if you are only going to be in Walt Disney World one day.

I would recommend your friends going to the Magic Kingdom.  Sure, the park will be crowded but it is the crown jewel of the Walt Disney World Resort and should not be missed.  It is also the usual favorite park of young children.  Since it will be crowded, suggest that they arrive at least 30 minutes before the park is scheduled to open (an hour when you factor in parking) and utilize FASTPASS to the fullest extent possible.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
