  • Disney Cruise is the best thing that ever happened to me!! I want to take an cruise next summer and my girls will be 4 and 2. Would you recommend an Alaskan cruise at that age or wait till they are older. We would do Caribbean instead, we love Castaway Cay

  • Welcome back, Jennifer! The Alaskan cruises with Disney are top notch to say the least! And Disney Cruise Line is the only way to go, in my opinion when sailing to Alaska with kids!

There are so many family friendly Port Adventures the allow even the youngest cruisers like your 2-year old to join in on the fun. When you browse these exciting adventures, click on the port, then on the left, check off the box for ages 0-2. This will limit your results to only those that allow the little ones to come along. You'll see some great adventures, especially the ones that include special family activities, like the Annette Island Cultural Celebration with Family Activity in Ketchikan. Not only will you get to tour and experience some amazing spots, but the whole family gets to participate in a cultural dance celebration. There are many other family tours like this in Alaska! Plus, onboard they offer some Alaskan only offerings like the salmon bake up on deck and family and kids activities on deck as you sail through Tracey Arm. What a treat! Check out my fellow Disney Cruise Mom Nancy's Alaskan cruise videos for more tips and a sneak peek at the fun you can have there!

Of course, the Caribbean has so much to offer for kids too. The activities on the ship will be similar, so your kids will always have fabulous Youth Clubs to enjoy and of course the adults have their own clubs and lounges as well! Honestly, it's really up to you as to where to sail because you can't go wrong if you're on a Disney ship. I'd suggest simply taking a look at the Find A Cruise page of Disney Cruise Line's website and just play around with the different months, itineraries and ships to find one that fits your schedule and budget, then go for it! Stop back if you have other questions as you continue to plan, Jennifer! I'm happy to help!
