Answered Question - Disney Parks Moms Panel

  • If I go on a tour to castaway cay or Nassau, and the tour costs, will I have to convert my money to Bahamas money?
  • - Asked by Natosha from Missouri on 1/31/2014
  • Hi again, Natosha! If you book a Port Adventure through Disney Cruise Line, you'll be receiving the highest possible service and a great experience where Disney takes care of all the details, so you simply show up and enjoy! 75 days prior to sailing, first-time guests with Disney Cruise Line can log into their reservation to begin booking these Port Adventures.

The cost of these are charged to your onboard stateroom account, which is settled with the credit card you'll provide. In fact, Disney's ships operate on a cashless basis. Each guest receives a Key To The World Card which acts as their charge card for onboard and Castaway Cay purchases, as well as serves as their stateroom key. The only cash you will want to have is for souvenirs you purchase in the ports of call. In Nassau, US Dollars are generally accepted so no need to convert any cash. In other foreign ports, in say, Europe, Disney Cruise Line can change money at Guest Services should guests need the local currency.

Castaway Cay is cashless as well. Guests simply need their Key To The World Card to make any additional purchases. But, you might not know that all of your food and most non-alcoholic drinks are included in your cruise cost at Castaway Cay! No need to budget for lunch or snacks there, Natosha! What a bonus!

Stop back again if you have further questions as you continue to plan!
